Configurable Defaults: Resolution, Style and Language

Bitcut's settings screen lets you configure defaults that apply to new projects. You can access settings by tapping the profile icon from the project list.

Export Defaults

Set your preferred export preset so new projects start with the right output settings:

  • Resolution — choose between 720p, 1080p, or 4K as your default
  • Preset — select a preset like Standard or Web Light that balances quality and file size

These defaults apply to new projects. You can always override them per-project in the export screen. See Export Settings for details on each option.

Subtitle Style Defaults

Configure default subtitle appearance for new projects:

  • Font and size — the default text style for subtitles
  • Position — top or bottom of the frame
  • Background style — gradient, plate, or no background
  • Animation — choose a default animation preset (fade, pop, bounce, and more)

Each project can customize its own subtitle style independently.

Language Preferences

Bitcut follows your device language by default (English or Russian). AI features like transcription and subtitle generation automatically detect the spoken language in your videos, so no manual language setting is needed for most workflows.

Save time with defaults: If you always export at 1080p with the same subtitle style, set those as defaults once. Every new project starts with your preferred settings, so you can focus on editing.
