Burned Subtitles: Permanently Rendered into Your Video

Bitcut uses burned-in subtitles — the subtitle text is rendered directly into the video pixels during export. This means the subtitles become a permanent part of the video image, visible on every platform and every player without any compatibility issues.

How Burned Subtitles Work

During export, Bitcut takes the subtitle styling you configured in the editor and renders it frame-by-frame into the video. The result is a single video file with no separate subtitle track or file.

  • What you see = what you get: The subtitle appearance in your preview is exactly what appears in the exported video — same font, size, position, colors, and animations.
  • No separate files: There is no .srt or .vtt file to manage. Everything is in one video file.
  • Universal compatibility: Every video player, every social media platform, and every messaging app will show your subtitles correctly.

Why Burned-In?

Short-form video platforms (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok) handle separate subtitle files inconsistently or not at all. Burned subtitles guarantee your text appears exactly as designed, regardless of where the video is watched.

Style before you export: Since subtitles are permanent once exported, finalize your subtitle styling (font size, position, colors, animation) before exporting. You can always re-export with different styling if needed.

Subtitle Styling Carries Over

All subtitle settings from the editor are preserved in the export:

  • Font size and position (top or bottom)
  • Background style (gradient, solid, or none)
  • Text stroke (outline) color and width
  • Active word highlight color (karaoke mode)
  • Animation preset (fade, pop, bounce, and more)
