Publish Description Generator
3-Part AI Output: Hook, Description and Hashtags
Every social media post needs a description, but writing a compelling hook, body text, and the right hashtags for each platform takes time. The Publish Description Generator uses AI to produce all three in seconds, optimized for whichever platform you plan to post on.
The generator creates three parts:
- Hook — a short attention-grabbing headline designed to stop the scroll
- Description — body text that gives context and encourages engagement
- Hashtags — relevant tags formatted for the target platform
Generating Your First Description
Open the description generator
From the publish sheet, tap the description button. If no description has been generated yet, you will see an empty state with the prompt to generate one for your project.
Choose a platform
Select the target platform from the segmented picker: General, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, or LinkedIn. This tells the AI how to optimize tone, length, and hashtag style. If you are unsure, start with General.
Generate the description
Tap Generate Description. The AI analyzes your project title and content, then produces a hook, description, and hashtags tailored to your chosen platform.
Platform-Specific Optimization
Each platform has different conventions for descriptions. The generator adjusts its output accordingly:
- General — balanced format that works anywhere. Medium length, standard hashtags.
- Instagram — longer description with storytelling tone. More hashtags (up to 30 allowed on Instagram).
- TikTok — short and punchy. Trending hashtag style. The hook is especially important here since TikTok captions appear below the video.
- YouTube — structured description with keywords for search. Fewer hashtags, focused on discoverability.
- Twitter — concise to fit character limits. Minimal hashtags, emphasis on the hook.
- LinkedIn — professional tone. Longer body text, industry-relevant tags.
Copy and Use
After generation, the full description is displayed with the hook, body text, and hashtags shown as labeled sections. Hashtags appear as individual chips so you can see each one clearly.
Tap the Copy button to copy everything to your clipboard at once — hook, description, and hashtags. A confirmation appears briefly to let you know the content was copied. Paste it directly into the caption field of whichever platform you are posting to.
Regenerating with a Different Platform
If you want a fresh version or need to switch platforms:
- Scroll to the regenerate section below the current description.
- Select a different platform from the dropdown, or keep the same one for a new variation.
- Tap Regenerate with AI.
The previous description is replaced with the new one. You can regenerate as many times as needed until you are satisfied with the result.
Tips for Better Descriptions
- Give your project a clear title. The generator uses the project name as context. A descriptive title like “Morning Routine Productivity Tips” produces much better results than “Video 1”.
- Generate for the primary platform first. Use that as your base, then regenerate for secondary platforms. This keeps your messaging consistent while adapting the format.
- Edit after generating. The AI gives you a strong starting point. Add personal touches, specific calls to action, or details the AI could not know about.
- Hook quality matters most. The hook is the first thing viewers read. If it grabs attention, the rest of the description gets read too. This is where the AI adds the most value — writing hooks is the hardest part of copywriting.
