Storage Limits & Management
Subscription-Based Cloud Quota: Plan Limits Explained
Every Bitcut account has a cloud storage quota for published shorts. The amount of available storage depends on your subscription plan. You can check your current usage and free up space by deleting shorts you no longer need.
Checking Your Usage
Your current storage usage is visible in the app settings. It shows:
- Total storage used across all published projects
- Storage limit for your current plan
- Per-project breakdown so you can see which projects use the most space
Managing Space
If you are approaching your storage limit, you have two options:
- Delete published shorts you no longer need. Storage is reclaimed immediately after deletion. See Deleting Published Shorts.
- Upgrade your plan for a higher storage quota.
Export is free: Cloud storage only counts published shorts (uploaded to Bitcut Cloud). Exporting videos to your Camera Roll does not use any cloud storage and has no limits.
What Affects File Size
The size of each published short depends on its duration, resolution, and bitrate. A 60-second 1080p short is typically 30-50 MB. Using the Web Light export preset produces smaller files (around 15 MB per minute) which helps conserve storage.
For smaller published files, export with the Web Light preset before publishing. The quality is still excellent for online viewing.
