Browser-Based Subtitle Editing by Moderators and Clients

The subtitle review feature lets anyone with the portal link edit subtitle text directly in the browser. This is designed for workflows where a moderator, client, or translator needs to correct or refine the subtitles without having the Bitcut app.

How It Works

1

Reviewer edits on the portal

On the web portal, the reviewer opens a short and sees the full subtitle transcript. They can edit any word or line directly in the browser and save their changes.

2

You see a notification in Bitcut

The app detects that subtitle edits are available. A badge appears on the project card in your project list, indicating pending changes.

3

Review the changes

Tap the badge to open a diff view showing exactly what was changed — original text alongside the edited version, with differences highlighted.

4

Accept and recompile

Tap Accept & Recompile to apply the edits. Bitcut re-renders the video with the updated subtitles and uploads the new version to the cloud. The portal link updates automatically.

Non-destructive: Subtitle timing and styling are preserved. Only the text content changes. Your font, colors, animations, and positions stay exactly as you set them.

Common Use Cases

  • Client approval: Send the portal link to a client for review. They fix typos or adjust wording. You accept and republish.
  • Translation review: A translator corrects machine-translated subtitles in the target language.
  • Team workflow: An editor creates the video, a producer reviews subtitles for accuracy.
